For all you non-hockey fans out there, the city of Chicago hosted a "back to the roots" outdoor Winter Classics game at Wrigley field between 'the Original 6' Detroit Red Wings (formerly the Cougars of 1926) and the Chicago Blackhawks yesterday. Talk about a new outlook on hockey... this game was full of excitement... with new atmosphere, throwback jerseys, and unusual seating arrangements for the onlookers who were fortunate to attend. After falling down 3 to 1 in the first period, the Wings pulled out the win with a stellar comeback.
I ripped some photos of the game off some website for your viewing pleasures. But first lets take a look at the 1992 throwbacks of both the Wings and the Hawks that might have been used. I could have gone either way...
